Ice Storm Aftermath Update
🌳Debris Pick Up, ❤️ Disaster Assistance Centers, 💵FEMA Update
Friends and neighbors-
On Friday, NES announced it had restored power to all our residents. This announcement is far from the end of our city’s Ice Storm Saga. There is still much to do, including but not limited to: picking up debris, connecting our community to recovery resources, holding NES accountable, and preparing for the future, so we don’t find ourselves in this situation again.
These items aren’t addressed with one meeting, one agency or one action — but with many. I will be sharing information/updates every step of the way.
Now, let’s talk about the latest:
TODAY’s Joint Special Called Committee Meeting
Debris Pick Up
Recovery Resources

💬Joint Committee Meeting THIS EVENING
🗓️ (TODAY) Tuesday, February 10 | ⏰ 5:00 pm
In my last Ice Storm update, I shared that the Nashville Council’s Transportation and Infrastructure Committee and Public Health and Safety Committee would be hosting a special called joint meeting to review what went wrong during Winter Storm Fern and why. The following agencies will have representatives in attendance tonight:
Nashville Electric Service (NES)
Nashville Department of Transportation (NDOT)
Metro Water Service (MWS)
Office of Emergency Management (OEM)
This meeting will be live streamed.
Can’t watch it live? All committee meetings are recorded and uploaded to Metro Nashville’s YouTube channel.
🚛Debris Pick Up
We lost a lot of limbs during the ice storm. Now, many of those limbs line the side of our streets. NDOT has not forgotten them. The agency issued an update yesterday on social media reassuring residents that all debris would be picked up. Here’s what they said:

💵Individual FEMA Assistance Update
Many of you have asked me about FEMA assistance. Last week, President Trump approved a major disaster declaration for Tennessee. At this time, for Davidson County, it only includes Public Assistance (for local governments, utilities, and some non-profits). However, individual assistance is still under review.
